Attempts at flawlessness are doomed to fail.. Wouter Kalis steers away from meaning in his abstract minimalist work, which embraces the impossibility of perfect human execution.. Horizontal black and white paper strips are placed on colored paper panels and one strip dictates the placing of the next.. Attempts at perfection end in failure.. These mistakes have become the signature of his work and contribute to the depth of the content.. The project shows computer-generated works similar to the physical works made out of paper.. The colors of the digital panels are derived from the paper used in the work.. The paper can be used to reproduce the digital works..
