Richard Garriott has revealed he will once more work with Todd Porter after Ultima Online won the hearts of the public. Iron & Magic, a Web 3.0 MMORPG, will be made available this time by the duo.
There had previously been some chatter among gamers about what the next project from Garriott and Porter would be, and now we know the name and a few sparse information.
So far, we are aware of the title and rules of the game. Additionally, it has been stated that players can "Buy land in the realm of Lord British" within the game.
Todd Porter noted in an interview with mmorpg.com that the project's main focus is the ownership of digital assets and NFTs. He claims that allowing users to possess in-game things encourages greater player involvement and keeps them invested in the game.
In reference to the now-iconic game he co-created with Garriott, he stated, "It could be intriguing if we could envision what it would have been like if you could have owned land in Ultima and buildings in Ultima, and actually owned them and really have a genuine interest in the game."
We should know what NFTs will be provided and how when more information about the game is made public.
