As it expands the Instagram NFT effort to more than 100 countries globally, the nefarious god of the social media underworld, Meta, has cranked up its blockchain escapades to stratospheric new heights by adding the Flow Network to its arsenal.
Instagram first unveiled its massive NFT initiative to a restricted group of US users back in May. The team has now expanded its scope to include nations in Africa, the Asia-Pacific, Asia, and the Americas as the strategy gains momentum. The capability will only continue to be available to eligible Instagram users, though.
Along with expanding its reach, Instagram has also integrated the powerful Flow blockchain by allowing users to create Flow NFTs in addition to the current Polygon and Ethereum-based assets. Additionally, Instagram has bolstered its arsenal with the Coinbase wallet and the native HelloDapper wallet for Flow.
Users can currently mint NFTs using its NFT game plan on any of the three partner blockchains, with Solana integration rumored to follow in the near future. The original author and the current owner will both earn credit when those with access mint and display their validated NFTs within their Instagram accounts.
