Mars Inc. submits trademark applications for M&M's in the NFT, cryptocurrency, and metaverse

Leading international companies and global brands are putting themselves in a position to benefit from the idea of the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFT) as they look for methods to keep relationships with customers.

Mars Inc., a well-known international manufacturer of chocolate, has applied for an NFT trademark for its recognisable M&M brand. The application was mentioned in a tweet by Mike Kondoudis, a registered trademark attorney, on June 24. He added that it "involves NFTs and digital tokens, virtual candy and nibbles."

The application, which was submitted on June 20 to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), also includes software for crypto-collectibles, digital money, and tokens, as well as NFTs, for authenticating, transmitting, and storing them.

The company declared its aim to profit from the cryptocurrency market by providing NFTs and digital collectibles for some of its most popular physical products. The business would offer virtual entertainment services, such as online virtual settings with virtual consumables including chocolate, sweets, and gum, according to the application.
