Through her company Miley Smiley, American singer Miley Cyrus has filed two trademark applications for the names "Miley" and "Miley Cyrus." A wide range of Web3 goods and services, including non-fungible tokens, are covered by the trademarks (NFTs).
The most recent star to jump on the NFT bandwagon is Miley Cyrus, a global icon. For the names "Miley" and "Miley Cyrus," Cyrus filed trademark applications with the USPTO on August 16, according to a tweet from NFT and metaverse trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis.
In addition to prospective live performances by other singers like Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Charli XCX, and the Foo Fighters, Cyrus is well-positioned to provide a variety of products and services thanks to the trademark registrations. There is still no information on the specifics of the products she would offer, despite the trademarks covering a wide range of commodities, from clothing to cosmetics.
Even though this is Miley Cyrus' first solo project, she has previously explored web3 and the metaverse. She is the first "famous guest" of Gucci Town in the Roblox metaverse, according to Gucci. She was meant to lead players through a series of assignments so they could learn more about a specific Gucci fragrance. Additionally, Cyrus-themed selfies were available to Roblox players.
While some companies choose to completely enter the Web3, other companies take a more cautious approach and apply for trademarks.
The filing of trademark applications is great news for Miley Cyrus's followers because it demonstrates her intention to grow her web3 presence. As many companies and people who have submitted these applications in the past have shown, it might present a chance to engage with her in a genuinely novel way.
