A very well-liked NFT project called Doodles has appointed Pharrell Williams as its chief brand officer.
At an event in conjunction with the NFT NYC conference yesterday, Doodles, an Ethereum NFT project, made two significant announcements: Pharrell Williams, a musician and producer, will join the project; and it has raised its first round of funding, which was spearheaded by venture capital firm Seven Seven Six.
At a private Doodle-holder event during NFT.NYC, Julian Holguin, the project's new CEO who was hired from Billboard in May, made the news while playing a video of Williams speaking on the big screen of a packed Palladium Theater.
Williams declared in the video, "I'm a huge admirer of the brand. "We're going to grow Doodles outward from the core group and take it to new heights, new dimensions."
Williams will also work with Columbia Records to create Doodles Records: Volume 1, an album with NFT influences.
Holguin then revealed a fundraising round led by Alexis Ohanian's venture capital company as well as "Doodles 2," a more approachable version of the line built on a non-Ethereum network, while the pastel-colored hype train proceeded throughout the evening.
